MERGE Graphic Designer
MERGE Graphic designers are responsible for the layout, visual appearance and usability of MERGE client and internal systems. This role may overlap with that of java development from an apprenticing standpoint as it pertains to application development. Using a combination of graphic design skills and technical knowledge of how web pages are created, the MERGE Graphic Designer is required to either implement static client delivered designs or assemble and present newly created designs for client approval.
The MERGE Graphic designers works closely with the project team to ensure client expectations are met from a visual and design oriented perspective. Additionally MERGE Graphic Designers are frequently required to conduct client administrative training sessions.

Qualifications
- Degree in graphic design or equivalent
- 2-3 Years web and GUI design experience
- Experience optimizing images for the web
- Experience working within a CMS (Content Management System) framework
- Expertise in current Internet standards, including web browsers and browser specifications.
- Experience in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and management
- Experience establishing design standards and related processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of current web markup or scripting languages: HTML, XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript ( PHP, MYSQL, .NET, PYTHON – Nice to have)
- Comprehensive knowledge of implementing design and interface through the use of Flash
- Extensive experience with desktop publishing/imaging applications (Photoshop, Fireworks, Freehand, Illustrator, Flash
Key Accountabilities
- Contribute to the ongoing architectural evolution of the MERGE Platform from a visual and GUI perspective
- Design and implement creative designs and graphics using HTML, CSS and Flash
- Present design ideas to clients and the MERGE management team
- Track and manage personal time as it relates to assigned projects and deliverables
- Manage Client and internal content and design through MERGE proprietary CMS
- Ensure that all web sites are accessible from a variety of different platforms, screen depths and other constraints.
